Linx delivers long-term benefits for
dairy company Tnuva
Reliability and low cost of ownership are key factors in the success of two Continuous Ink Jet printers incorporating head traversing units, which are printing 40,000 yogurt pots every hour at leading Israeli dairy company Tnuva Eilon Tavor.
The installed printers are in addition to over 100 Linx machines that are in operation at Tnuva sites across Israel, as part of a long-standing partnership between the company and Linx’s Israeli distributor International Process Equipment Ltd (IPE).
The CIJ printers are working in conjunction with an Erca Form Fill Seal machine providing two lines of code, best before date and printing time, onto printed paper lids.
The printer’s software allows fast, time-saving changeovers between products or messages, with simple automated setup, and the printer’s design ensures mistake-free refills. In addition, automatic print format selection using the line speed provides the best possible print quality.
The Linx Continuous Ink Jet printers have been designed to deliver the lowest possible running costs, featuring longer service intervals and a unique autoflush printhead for quick, clean starts and stops.
Routine maintenance is minimal, and in contrast to other printers on the market, there are no expensive ink system assemblies to replace at each service. Similarly, there is no need to change the ink tank between services, another hidden cost with other ink jet printers.
The Linx printers were installed as part of Tnuva’s continuous improvement programme to renew existing coders, and selected after a comparison with an alternative ink jet model.
