Linx supporting the Australian Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund

Following the devastating bushfires in Australia where thousands of families have lost or are facing the possibility of losing their homes, we couldn’t sit back and do nothing. Linx has kindly donated $5,000 to the Australian Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund which enables them to deploy thousands of additional trained staff and volunteers to disaster affected communities.

This money will not only help rehouse stranded victims but also provide immediate assistance to cover everyday expenses and long term support to the communities affected.

Linx has chosen to donate to the Red Cross, however, if you are wondering whether there are other ways to help, the answer is: absolutely, yes!

Here are a few of their suggestions:

• Clothing and small homewares can be donated to Red Cross shops for us to on-sell and raise funds for our life-changing work. Please do note, we won’t be able to distribute these goods to disaster affected communities.
• Agencies like GIVIT act as a ‘broker’ for donated goods, listing what’s needed and finding a match for the items you might have to give.
• Check out our volunteering roles. You’ll need to apply and complete training before we can send you into an emergency response.
• Or host a garage sale or event to raise funds in your community.
